Requirements & Insurance

Can I use my international driver’s license?

If you are a visitor in California or other states over 18 and have a valid driver license from your home state or country, you may drive in California without getting a California driver license as long as your license remains valid.

I have a foreign driver’s license, can I drive in USA?

Of course, your foreign driver’s license is good for 6 months.

Do I need insurance?

Yes, auto insurance coverage is mandatory in most states. Insurance is of outmost importance.  There are two types of insurance, collision damage waiver CDW, and supplementary liability insurance.  CDW is voluntary.  It covers the van.  If you don’t have it, you would be responsible for the entire cost of damage to the van.  Liability insurance is mandatory in California and you must have it to drive.  You can buy both insurances from First Choice LAX Van Rentals.  Both CDW and SLI have a $1000 deductive.

Can I use my own car insurance?

Yes, you can also provide your own insurance.  Please check with your insurance company to see if your policy covers full size passenger vans. You need to fax or email us your insurance policy. We cannot release the van to you without liability insurance. California law requires liability insurance for all vehicles, which covers you if you injure another person in an accident.

Can I use my Credit card’s car rental insurance?

Most credit card companies such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover provide rental car insurance however their policy does not cover 12 & 15 passenger van rental and they exclude vans with more than 8 seat or passenger.

What are your age requirements?

You have to be at least 21 years of age to rent and drive passenger van.

Method of payment

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay the rental cost by credit card, Paypal, or debit card.

Can I use another person’s credit card for renting a vehicle?

Yes, but the card holder must present themselves with proper ID to sign the rental contract.

Deposit

Do I need a deposit?

Yes, deposit is required for security purposes. To reserve your passenger van we charge your credit card 50% of the total cost. For cash payment the amount of the requested deposit will be returned to you.

How much is the deposit?

The deposit is based on the type of passenger van, usually from $500.00 to $1000.00 for cash deposits.

Type of vehicles

What type of cars do you have?

We have full size 12 seat passenger vans and 15 seat passenger vans.

Do you have automatic or stick shift passenger vans?

We have only automatic passenger vans.

Do you have air conditioned passenger vans?

Yes, all our passenger vans have air conditioning.

Do you rent vans by the hour?

Yes, passenger vans can be rented by the hour with a minimum of 4 hours; however it needs our final approval.

Do you offer accessories with your rentals?

Yes We do have accessories that can be Offer with the vehicles. The accessories are as following:

  2. Free Internet & WiFi  (Unlimited  4GLTE Internet for all passengers)
  3. Two Free child booster seats.
  4. Free GPS Navigation systems.

As you hit the reverse gear and the monitor will automatically shows what’s behind you.It will also display virtual lines that help you estimate the distance from your bumper to another point

What about toddler or baby seats?

We got you Covered for Free.

Additional charges

Is there an additional charge for more than one driver?

No, there is no additional charges apply when rental vehicle is to be driven by more than one person, but additional drivers must be an authorized driver.

Officially, the only people allowed to drive rental vans are the people listed on the rental agreement. The persons on the rental agreement are held responsible regardless of who is driving the van.

Is there a cleaning fee?

As long as you bring back the van in a reasonable shape, there is no cleaning fee.

Is there an additional charge for fuel?

Fuel must be brought back the same way it was given to you, otherwise we charge you for the fuel.

What kind of fuel does the van take?

You can use the least expensive gasoline.  No high octane gas is required.

Is there a fee for seat removal?

Absolutely not.

Is there an additional charge for underage?

No, we do not charge more if the driver is under 25 years old, but the driver must be at least 21 years old.

Monthly Special

If I rent a vehicle for a month can I get a good price?

Yes, passenger vans can be rented by the month and receive a special offer and more discount.

Out-of-state

Can I drive out-of-state?

Yes, please contact us if you need to take vehicles out-of-state.

Discounts

Do you have AAA, travel agencies or airport employee’s discounts?

Yes, we offer discounts to members of any one of these associations and we have online coupon that can be found online.

Do you offer coupons?

Yes we have LAX Van Rental promotion code and coupons for van rental Los Angeles, you can find them on Google or print them out from the web site when available.

We are a religious group, is there any discount?

We have a 10% discount for church groups, religious groups, non-profit organizations, military, university, schools, and varsity teams.

Pick-up and Returning Vehicles

If I have a flight leaving during your closing hours, is there anywhere I can leave your vehicle?

Yes, you can dropp off the van at the airport terminal.

Can I drop off the van at different location?

Yes, you can drop off the van at Las Vegas, San Francisco and San Diego however there is a drop off fee.

OK. We are done with our trip. Where should I return the passenger van?

Go to departure area and off load your passengers and luggage.  Park the van in the parking across from the offloading area.  Put the parking ticket and keys inside and lock the van.  Then kindly call us our toll-Free phone right away at 1-855-877-4433 and tell us the parking spot.

What if we arrive late at night?

We deliver the van any time; however there is a charge for late deliveries and pickups.

OK I picked up the van from your parking, what do I do with my own vehicle?

No problem, you can park your vehicle at our parking location for free for entire length of your trip (at your own risk).

What if I want to pick up the van?

Please call our office and arrange for pick up or delivery.  You can pick up the van near LAX Airport.

Free Miles

Is the mileage unlimited?

Mileage is unlimited for rentals of seven days and over (or one week) and restricted to California, Arizona and Nevada. Contact us if you are going to other states. For rentals less than a week, the first 175 miles per day are included  in your price.  Anything over is charged at 69 cents per mile.

Passenger vans are not allowed across the Mexican or Canadian border.

How many miles do I get per day?

Our 12 and 15 passenger vans include 175 free miles. Any additional miles will be charged at the rate of 69 Cents per mile.

What is the gas mileage?

About 12-18 miles per gallon or 5-7 kilometers per liter.

How fast can I drive?

Please do not drive over speed limit or 65 miles per hour, whichever is lower.

Damages and Mechanical Issues

What if the van has a mechanical failure?

If the van has a mechanical breakdown We Offer Free 24/7 Road Side Assistance. IF the Vehicle is not fixable we will do our best to replace the van.  Call our office for arrangements.

What about if I get a flat tire?

We check our vehicles routinely and make sure the tires are fit for long distance driving.  If you have a blown or flat tire, you are responsible for fixing the flat or replacing the tire and any damage to the van as result of a flat or blown tire.  You may change the tire yourself or call our 24/7 Free  Road side Assistance for help.

What about glass damage?

You are responsible for glass damage.  The glass can be repaired once you return the van.

Oops the van won’t start.

Our vans have new batteries.  Always make sure all lights are off before you exit the van.  Passengers sometimes leave their dome lights on and that causes battery failure.  Just in case, our vans are equipped with jumper cables or you can simply call our 24/7 Road Side Assistance for help.

What if I abandon the van?

Please don’t.  You would be responsible for any damage But you can call our 24/7 Road side Assistance for help and tow the vehicle

What if I damage the van?

You are responsible for cost of repair plus 15% service fee.

What if I Lost the Phone or damage the phone,or any of accessories ?

You would be responsible for any damage or lost to the phone and any of the accessories that comes   with the vehicle.

What if I get a traffic or toll ticket?

Please don’t.  You are responsible for traffic tickets. But you wont get Toll ticket because We offer Free toll road access in all California toll roads.

How much is the cancellation fee?

You may cancel your reservation without any charges all the way up to 7 days to your reservation, however if you cancel your reservation within 7 days to your reservation, there will be 50% cancellation fee. Failure to notify us of any cancellations either by email or by a simple phone call to us will result into collection of the total rental fee from the responsible party’s credit card.
